Process Paragraph: For my depth photography exercise, I focused on learning how to use the F-stop (aperture) to control how much of my subject(s) were and weren’t in focus. Through practice I was able to solidify the concept of a lower f-stop (such as 3.5) creating shallow depth (blurred background), and a higher f-stop (such as 16) creating a deep depth (clear background). I put these new skills into use by controlling the f-stop to create visually appealing deep, and shallow depth pictures. I even did some comparison pictures where I shot the same subject in both deep and shallow depth, so demonstrate the difference that the f-stop control can make.
